Bill from Tonawanda, New York.!!!!!!! It was a quite the adventure getting hold of Bill. We E-mailed him, he couldn't get hold of us, so he got hold of Greg, who got hold of Gary's wife Lacey, who then called Gary, who finally got hold of Bill at around 11:30 PM New York time. Needless to say, Bill was wide awake.
We had a great chat and found out about Bill. He is a Vietnam vet/ Army, Project Healing Waters volunteer, and use to work in the VA PTSD division as a counselor. Not to mention he learned to fly fish about three years ago thru Project Healing Waters. HOW COOL IS THAT HE WON THE PACKAGE?
This whole endeavor, at times, has been an administrative nightmare. Sort of like herding cats. But, now that the final numbers are in and the package is going to a well deserving winner, it has become a total blessing to me. As for the final tally ….. well let's just say through your generosity Project Healing Waters and Casting for Recovery, both in Southern California, will each get a check for $1780. To all of you folks who made this happen, and even though there was only one person to walk away with the raffle package, you are all winners in my book.
I can not thank Greg, Gary and Stuart enough for donating their functional words of art to this raffle. With folks like them and you, giving of yourselves, fantastic charities like PHW & CFR can keep supporting our invaluable veterans and breast cancer survivors. And to both our veterans and Breast Cancer survivors thank you for being examples to us all through your strength and courage.
Thank you for all the support from Carole, Marguerite, Chiaki and Shane. As I believe Greg said about this endeavor "It takes a village".
