Scott 5 wt. Facelift

This is the first of three re-build that my best customer wants done. It's a Scott fiberglass 3 piece, 5wt, 7'6" blank. I took off the original reel seat and added a Lemke full chrome per the customer's request  Also added a red agate stripper , new Garnet NCP wraps with two turn silver trim wraps. finished everything off with a custom turned handle.

Came out with the old school look my customer likes.  Think it looks pretty good if I do say so. Always good working with this client.  One thing I learned... if you are going to build a custom rod, build it like it might be taken apart someday by another builder.  do the best you can because custom rod builders are the worst critics.  Also remember, if you are going to have a rod rebuilt expect the labor to be more. We (rod builders) have to remove all the old components and do it without ruining the blank. Its much easier to build off a never been built blank ;)
Until next time my friends,
Pete
