What I really want to do is give you some information about Epic Fast Glass technology and the options available. Fast Glass is a new technology where the glass fibers basically run in one direction giving the rod a faster action, better tracking and some more power than traditional fiberglass blanks. In other words: This ain't your Grandpa's traditional old glass.
Epic blanks are offered in a number of colors, weights and lengths with more options coming on board all the time. This is the best of both worlds, you can get a traditional looking custom built or a rod with a bit of an attitude. The choice is entirely up to you, not the average manufacturer who only offers one color.
Below are some shots of an Epic 580 "Nude and an Epic 480 Amber. The 580 is a 5 weight, 8', 3 piece blank. It is the natural glass color wrapped in Fish Hawk silk with two turn black silk tipping. Dressed with Lemke hardware, in-house insert and handle, Struble Amber Agate stripping guide and Snake Brand Universal guides.
The 480 is a 4 weight, 8', 3 piece also in Fish Hawk silk and the same components. Difference it the blank is the Amber color, with different wraps and handle. Both rods are smooth as silk to cast and very accurate. I am not considered a good caster, by any means, but I was laying a fly in a tea cup at 30 to 40 feet.
Until next time my friends,
