Being my first 2 weight, I don't even have a reel and line for it. So it went for a ride with me up to our club's rod building class in Kernville last weekend. Brad W., the new owner of "Buckeye", was nice enough to bring up a reel with a 2 wt. double taper line on it. It didn't take me more than two casts to realize that this rod is in fact a true 2 wt. I had done the Common Cents System on it, but I never trust it until I actually line up the rod. The CCS said the rod was somewhere around 1.82 and the 2 wt. proved it. Man was it sweet. It laid out as such line as I would ever need to for 2 wt. fishing conditions with no effort at all. Plus it hit where I was aiming and I am by no means a good caster.
