Epic 686 Nude

Every once in a while a build comes along that will surprise the builder.  When the customer first approached me with his color scheme for this build I thought it might be a little loud... for my taste.  He wanted the wraps to match the red accents on his Hardy Angel reel.  Well, after building the rod, I stand before you with egg on my face.  While this rod may pop with its Candy Apple Red wraps, it pops in a great way.  The rod has a new school attitude with a classic pedigree.

Blank: Epic Fiberglass 686 Nude (6wt, 8'6", 3 piece)
Reel seat: Lemke LC1, up-locking, Nickel
Reel seat insert: Stabilized Cherry Burl, finished with CA and polished to a high gloss
Handle: full-wells
Guides & Tiptop: Snake Brand, Nickel
Hook keeper: Ring & Saddle
Wraps: Gudebrod Candy Apple, no color preserver, trim Persall's Gossamer black silk
Stripping guide: Joe Arquello 12mm red agate
Until next time my friends,
Pete
