First off a good buddy of mine Shane got to spend some time on the Kern River in California with his Amber Epic 480. As you can see these rods have some great bendo. Especially when they are in a tug-of-war with one of the locals on a nice fall day.
But the liquid amber saga doesn't end there. Two of my latest builds also happen to be Epic Ambers. One a 480 in Primrose Persall's gossamer silk with Antique Gold trim wraps. And the other an Epic 580 wrapped in Old Copper silk with black trim wraps.
The 580 sports a down locking Lemke seat with a Maple Burl insert, full-wells handle, Snake Brand Universal guides and A Joe Arquello Amber stripping guide.
The 480 is done in a Dark Nickel Lemke up-locking seat, Hackberry insert, with Snake Brand guides, winding check and tip top in Black Nickel. Plus another Joe Arguello Amber agate stripper.
One is headed to New York and the other is headed down under to Australia. Hopefully they will both see many days like Shane had.
Please bear with me as the picture below is my first attempt at a slide show.
