Meiser 12'6" Spey

Built this  rod for a good friend.  I warned him, you get me addicted to archery there is wick bad payback.  Joel, welcome to the fly fishing addiction.  That's right, it's payback

This is the first rod I have built on a Bob Meiser blank and I must say top shelf quality all the way around.  It might be my first Meiser, but if definitely won't be the last. Specially since when I ordered Joel's blank I ordered one for my self ;-)

Joel is locale so we could see first hand what we had and design the build on site.  Joel and KK designed the aft handle and I carried it over to the fore handle.  Kept the wraps simple with Green wraps with white trim.  Five different types of cork make up the handles.  Used Lemke Titanium seat hardware and turned a stabilized Spalted Big Leaf Maple Burl seat insert.   Rod feels great in the hand.  Can't wait to get to my own build.  Enjoy the pictures.
How to get in wet in the surf and see which line works the best on it ;-)

Until next time my friends,
Pete

Latest Epic headed to So. Cal.  Love the look and feel of this build. Typical Epic blank quality.
The customer knew exactly what he wanted, but yet he gave me a lot of leeway to do what I thought looked best.

Build details:
Lemke Hardware: Dark Nickel LC1 down-locking
Guides: Snake Brand Dark Nickel
Insert:  Big Leaf Maple Burl
Handle: Full-wells
Wraps: Fish Hawk silk with black trim wraps.
Agate Stripping guide: Joe Arguello Red Banded Agate

Well, enough play time... back to the bench ;-)

Until next time my friends,
Pete
